Since time immemorial, man has tried to understand emotions; scientists and psychologists have studied anger and other emotions but this area of human framework is still mysterious.

Aromatherapy essential oils have been used throughout history to alter the mood. By using pure essential oils for anger aggression and frustration, you can trigger specific chemicals in the brain and calm the body and mind.
How Do Essential Oils For Anger Work?
Essential oils for angry child or adults work in several ways:
Monoterpene Alcohols for Calming
Essential Oils in the floral category such as Rose, Jasmine, Chamomile, Lavender, Calendula etc contain monoterpene alcohols which have calming, sedative, restorative and relaxing properties.
Essential Oils for Grounding and Soothing
On the other hand, essential oils from tree, herbs and grasses such as Lemongrass, Frankincense, Basil etc which contain esters, sesquiterpenes and oxides are grounding, and soothing and help in renewing feelings.
Mints to Lift Spirits
Essential oils from the mint family like Spearmint and Peppermint contain ketones and are energizing and uplifting.
Spice Oils Warm Senses
Likewise, essential oils from spices such as Cinnamon, Cardamom and Cloves warm the senses and contain mainly phenols.
Essential oils from the citrusy family like Bergamot, Lemon Tangerine, and Mandarin etc contain chemical components like Limonene, Monoterpenes, and Beta pinene. These oils are refreshing, rejuvenating, cleansing and uplifting on the senses.
Aromatic Pathway in the Brain
Essential oils trigger memories and stimulate an emotional response. By inhaling certain aromas, we are “literally transformed to another time and place”. This connection between the brain and aroma creates an aromatic pathway in the brain.
Each distinct aroma is first processed by the brain’s olfactory system which is the sensory system that controls our sense of smell. The olfactory system in turn is connected to the limbic system of the brain where we store memories, feelings etc.
When we inhale a particular aroma, we get a rush of feelings and responses associated with that aroma. Thus, essential oils for anger can be used to enhance well being and manage these emotions.
