Antiviral essential oils are plentiful for those of us who prefer a natural approach to disease over synthetic and chemical ones. When a viral infection strikes, most of us make a beeline for the doctor’s office. However, most conventional medicines are ineffective against viruses.
They usually give temporary relief from the symptoms which then manifest in the form of something else. Take the example of children: on an average, a child is likely to suffer coughs and colds nearly 6 to 8 times in a year.
As a parent, you certainly do not want to overload your child’s body with ineffective drugs which give rise to drug-resistant pathogens.
So today, I am going to talk about the best antiviral essential oils which not only give much-needed relief; they also strengthen the immune system and enable the body to prevent them in the first place.
What Is A Viral Infection?
Flu is Most Common Virus
There are millions of viruses present in our environment and some of them have not even been identified yet. Most common of all viral infections is the flu or Influenza.
Hundreds of identified and unidentified viruses have been categorized under the broad category of “flu”. Flu causes fever, tiredness, fatigue, stuffy or runny nose, headaches, body aches, memory issues and coughs.
Another common viral infection is gastroenteritis also known as the stomach flu or stomach bug. This infection is characterized by diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and fever.
Viruses often remain dormant in our bodies and they emerge once the immune system is weakened. Based on the severity of the viral infection, you can use essential oils with antiviral properties to lessen the symptoms.
Severe Flu - See Doctor
However, in case of very severe symptoms, you must visit the doctor as there are select few conventional drugs that do work against viruses.
I will introduce you to several antiviral essential oil recipes and ways to use them for strengthening the body.
